The Diabetes and Lipid Clinic of Alaska is a multi-disciplinary clinic that was established in 2007 by Dr. Ross Tanner. The purpose of the clinic is to serve as a resource for adult patients with diabetes, obesity, elevated blood pressure or cholesterol problems.

Special emphasis is placed on the prevention of complications through a combination of different treatment modalities which complement the patient's lifestyle. They include but are not limited to education in dietary management through dietician/nutritionists, establishing exercise programs with the help of exercise physiologists and the implementation of medications when appropriate.

By utilizing this proactive approach, many patients are on fewer medications with better control of their condition and experience fewer complications over the long term.
